The Republic of Armenia is situated between Europe and Asia, in Transcaucasia, occupying the area of 29,800 square kilometers. Armenia is divided into 11 regions. The capital of the country is Yerevan.
Language – The official language is Armenian, while the Russian and the English languages are also widely used.
Climate - Armenia is distinguished by a rich variety of landscapes, including 7 geographic zones, from deserts and semi-deserts up to alpine and subalpine meadows. The average summer temperature exceeds 25º C, while in winter it is about -5º C. The best season for visiting the country is from April till October.
Religion - Armenia was the first country in the world, which officially adopted Christianity in 301.
National currency of Armenia is dram, there are bank notes of 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 drams and also coins of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 drams. You may freely exchange the currency in all banks and currency exchange points; there are no limitations for the currency exchange.
